Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Awareness Initiative

In 2025, the Government of India decided to conduct a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of its citizens’ electoral records and map their identities with the voter lists of 2002–03. During our interactions with community members, we came to know that marginalized communities were largely unaware of the importance of this exercise. They also did not understand the repercussions they might face if they failed to participate and verify their identity during the process. In Rajasthan, the SIR was conducted during the months of November and December. Vividha organized several awareness events with the support of local BLOs in Kumbha Marg, Ramsinghpura Basti, Sector 35, and Telipada. Through these community events, Vividha was able to reach approximately 2,000 people and raise awareness about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign, voter registration, and the importance of identity documents. Many community members had limited information about the process and lacked access to essential documents. Through discussions, group meetings, and one-to-one support, nearly 1,000 SIR forms were filled out and submitted, helping community members secure their electoral identity and exercise their democratic rights.
