About Vividha

VIVIDHA in our mother tongue means “the one with a difference”.

Vividha is a women’s documentation and resource centre established in 1998. As the women’s movement in Rajasthan became more intense and broader-based in membership, the need for an information and resource centre became increasingly pressing. All good movements and campaigns need the support of a dynamic resource centre. With a constant flow of requests for data, references, literature, news clippings, updates on cases and case histories.

It is in this context some of the activists came together to initiate this resource centre. Vividha is a collective effort for critical and creative consultations on women’s and other contemporary relevant issues that affect women’s lives. It was formed of activists who had been assisting with investigations, legal aid, shelter and advocacy – its members are actively involved with other movements, campaigns of Rajasthan and they are actively writing and publishing to influence public opinion through the press and other media.

Our Recent Initiatives & Community Engagement

“True empowerment begins when individuals are equipped with awareness, voice and choice.”

At Vividha, we believe meaningful change begins at the community level, when people are informed, included and empowered to question long-held inequalities. In recent months, our team has been actively working across Jaipur’s government schools and urban settlements, engaging with children, adolescents and women on issues that shape their everyday realities.

Communities We Work With

Vividha works with marginalized Muslim communities, ragpicker families, domestic workers, labourers, women, adolescent girls and children from underserved settlements, helping them access education, leadership opportunities, awareness programmes and pathways towards empowerment.

Our Key Initiatives & Programmes

Constitutional Values & Leadership Development

Vividha helps adolescents understand constitutional values, democratic rights, and gender equality. Interactive sessions build leadership, critical thinking, and informed decision-making. Mothers are also involved to strengthen community awareness.

A School Under the
Open Sky

Vividha runs an open-air learning space for children from marginalized communities. Through games, stories, and creative activities, children regain confidence and interest in education. The initiative supports their return to formal schooling.

Empowering Marginalised Muslim Women & Girls

Vividha supports Muslim women and girls through vocational training and life-skills education. Sessions focus on confidence, leadership, and constitutional rights. The program promotes greater social and economic empowerment.

Violence Against Women: Kabhi Nahin, Kahi Nahin

Women and girls learn about legal rights and available support systems through awareness visits. The initiative encourages informed choices and access to protection services. It reinforces a strong message against all forms of violence.

Menstrual Health Awareness Session

Vividha conducts menstrual health awareness programs for adolescent girls in schools. Interactive sessions address common concerns and encourage open conversations. The initiative promotes health, confidence, and positive menstrual well-being.

Our vision is of a society where women and girls live with dignity, equality and freedom and have equal opportunities to realize their full potential.
